Ed's Bugs
Welcome to Ed's Bugs. I've been fascinated with entomology since the age of 6 years old, and since that time have been studying and raising insects. My primary goal is to keep insect populations thriving and always give back far more to the local ecosystem in terms of rearing and releasing thousands of eggs and caterpillars annually. In my younger days I was an insect collector, but now do so on an extremely limited basis. I much prefer rearing native species and photographing moths, butterflies, beetles, in their natural habitat. Here at Ed's Bugs I offer a variety of livestock as well as both frozen and dried specimens. The vast majority of specimens for sale in my store I personally raise or catch. Data is included with all specimens unless noted otherwise. Even more than my time feeding and tending to caterpillars and photographing out in the field, I most of all enjoy connecting with people. If you have an insect related question, always feel free to message me. Sharing my experience and knowledge is a pleasure, and I do so regardless whether or not someone purchases insects from me.
*All cocoons for sale have been personally raised by me in in sleeves at a low population density. These are among the healthiest , highest quality cocoons you will find anywhere. Beware that many cocoons you'll see online for sale by others people have not been raised by the person selling them. Recently, there's been an increase in the number of people 'flipping' cocoons or buying cocoons at low prices, often with little or no knowledge of the growing conditions of them, and then attempting to resell the cocoons at retail prices. Cocoons sometimes will change hands three or four times and still be for sale. Unfortunately, repeated shipping only reduces the quality of cocoons as they are more likely to experience dramatic temperature changes, humidity changes, as well as rough handling.
I only sell within the U.S. I do not have the permits to export overseas. Sorry, no exceptions.
